This notice tells you which personal data we process when you visit this website, why we do so, on what legal basis and how long the data stays with us. It is written in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Please note: this is a translation provided for your convenience. The German version of this privacy notice is the authoritative one, because the controller is established in Germany and German data protection law applies. In the event of any discrepancy, the German wording prevails.
The main point first: you can use this website in full without telling us anything about yourself. The cctvfinder calculates in your browser, without a login and without an account. We set no cookies, we use no analytics or tracking services and we embed no social network buttons. Personal data only arises when you send us the enquiry form or load the booking calendar on the page for installers.

We have not appointed a data protection officer. We are not required to, because we do not reach the thresholds of Article 37 GDPR and Section 38 BDSG. For all questions concerning data protection please write directly to the address above.
2. Your rights at a glance
You have the following rights against us. You can exercise any of them informally — an email to request@cctvfinder.com is enough — and doing so costs you nothing.
Access (Article 15 GDPR): you can find out at any time whether and which data we hold about you, for what purposes we process it and to whom we have disclosed it.
Rectification (Article 16 GDPR): if details are wrong or incomplete, we correct them.
Erasure (Article 17 GDPR): you can ask for your data to be erased, provided no statutory retention obligation stands in the way.
Restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR): instead of erasing, we can also block the data if you prefer that.
Data portability (Article 20 GDPR): on request we give you the data you gave us in a common machine-readable format.
Objection (Article 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you can object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Withdrawal of consent (Article 7(3) GDPR): if you have given us consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of the processing carried out until then remains unaffected.
Complaint to a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR): you can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority at any time. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany. You may also turn to the authority of your place of residence or work.
3. Visiting the website: server log files
When you call up this website, your browser transmits data to the server the site is held on for technical reasons. Without that transmission the page could not be shown to you. The following is recorded:
the IP address of your device, the date and time of the request, the address requested, the HTTP status code and the volume of data transferred, the page visited before, if your browser sends it, and details of your browser and operating system.
Purpose: delivering the page, operational security and defence against attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a technically sound and secure manner.
This data is processed by our hosting provider and deleted automatically after a short time. We do not combine the log data with other data and do not evaluate it in order to identify individual people.
4. Hosting with Vercel
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. Vercel processes on our behalf all data arising when the page is called up, in particular the log data named under section 3. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Vercel under Article 28 GDPR.
The legal basis for using it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and capable operation of this website.
Vercel is a company established in the United States. A transfer of personal data to the USA can therefore not be ruled out. It is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR, together with Vercel’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission found an adequate level of data protection in its decision of 10 July 2023.

5. The enquiry form
On the home page, below the tool and on the page “Request a quote” you can send us a form. That is the only place on this website where you give us details about yourself.
Which details we collect
Mandatory details are: what you want to protect (type of site), when the project is to begin, your name and your telephone number. Without these we cannot deal with your enquiry.
Optional details are: the area or number of zones, your email address and your postcode. The postcode helps us find a specialist installer near you. Not giving these details puts you at no disadvantage other than that we can only answer you by telephone.
If the enquiry comes from the 3D tool, we also send the values you set there: scene, distance, mounting height, resolution, angle of view and the pixel density and quality level calculated from them. These values describe your project, not you. They are there to spare the installer starting from nothing in the first conversation.
The form also contains a field invisible to you, labelled “Website”. People never fill it in; automated programs almost always do. If it is filled in, we discard the enquiry without storing it. This field collects no data about you.
What we use the data for, and on what basis
We use your details in order to answer your enquiry and to arrange a quote for you. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, because the processing is necessary in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
For passing your details on to a specialist installer we additionally rely on your express consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You give it with the tick box above the send button. Without that tick you cannot submit the form; you can instead write to us directly by email at any time.
Who receives your data
Your enquiry goes to us and, if you have consented, to a specialist video security installer able to carry out your project. The installer is selected according to the type of your site and your region. The installer is itself responsible for its further processing of your data; its own privacy notice applies to that. On request we will tell you which firm we passed your enquiry to.
Beyond that circle we do not pass your data on. We do not sell data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep the data
We keep enquiries for as long as is necessary to deal with them, but at most six months after the last contact. After that we delete them. If a contract arises from your enquiry, the retention periods under commercial and tax law apply (Section 257 HGB and Section 147 AO); we then keep the documents concerned for up to ten years and block them for any other use.
If you withdraw your consent or ask for erasure, we delete without delay, unless a statutory retention obligation stands in the way.
6. Storing and sending the enquiries
We take an incoming enquiry by two routes, so that it does not get lost.
Storage in a database: the details are stored in a database operated at our hosting provider Vercel. The same statements on processing on our behalf and on transfers to third countries apply as under section 4.
Sending by email: we also send ourselves the enquiry as an email. For sending we use the service Resend of Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. Resend thereby processes the content of your enquiry including your name and your contact details. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Resend under Article 28 GDPR. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Here too a transfer to the USA takes place, based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR. If you have given an email address, we enter it as the reply address in that message, so that a reply reaches you directly.
7. Protection against automated requests
So that the form is not misused by programs, we limit the number of requests that may come from the same source within a short time. For this we process the IP address in memory for the duration of a short window. The IP address is not stored permanently and is not linked to any enquiry.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to protect our systems and our mailbox against misuse.
8. Booking an appointment via Cal.com
On the page for installers at the address /en/for-installers you can book an appointment for a conversation. The calendar comes from Cal.com, Inc., 2093 Philadelphia Pike #1971, Claymont, DE 19703, USA.
The calendar is not loaded automatically. At first you see only a button with a note. Only when you click it is the calendar loaded, and only then does Cal.com receive your IP address and technical details about your browser. As long as you do not click, no connection to Cal.com takes place.
The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give with the click, and, for storing and reading information on your device, Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by leaving or reloading the page without pressing the button.
If you book an appointment, Cal.com processes the data given there such as your name, email address and the time chosen. Here too a transfer to the USA takes place. The details are in Cal.com’s privacy policy at https://cal.com/privacy
If you would rather avoid this, you can reach us for the same purpose by telephone or email. Both routes are on the same page directly below the calendar.
9. Contacting us by email or telephone
If you write to or call us directly, we process your details in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry serves the initiation of a contract, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
We delete emails that reach us as soon as your request has been dealt with conclusively and no retention obligations stand in the way.
10. Typefaces
This website uses the typefaces Inter and Sora. Both are delivered with the site and are held on the same server as the site itself. Calling up the page therefore creates no connection to Google Fonts or any other external server, and no data is transferred to third parties.
11. Cookies, analytics and social networks
We set no cookies, neither our own nor third-party ones. There is therefore no consent banner on this site, because there is nothing for you to consent to.
One single exception, and it belongs here: on your first visit a note appears at the bottom of the page saying that this site sets no cookies. If you dismiss it, we store an entry in your browser’s local storage for that (name “cctvfinder:hinweis-gesehen”, content “ja”), so that it does not come back on every visit. That entry contains nothing about you, is not read out and does not leave your device. The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG: the storage is strictly necessary in order to provide the service you asked for — namely that the note stays away. You can delete it at any time through your browser’s site data.
We use no analytics or audience measurement, no Google Analytics, no advertising networks and no profiling.
The footer holds links to our profiles on Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn. These are ordinary links and not embedded buttons. A connection to those networks is only made when you click the link. From that point the privacy notice of the respective provider applies.
12. Automated decisions and profiling
Automated decision-making including profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR does not take place. The calculations of the cctvfinder relate to cameras and distances, not to people.
13. Data security
This website is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form. You can tell by the address bar of your browser, which begins with https://, and by the padlock symbol beside it. Details you send through the form are therefore not readable by third parties on their way to us.
Beyond that we take technical and organisational measures under Article 32 GDPR to protect your data against loss, destruction and unauthorised access. Access to incoming enquiries is limited to the people who deal with them.
14. Obligation to provide data
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to give us personal data. Without the fields marked as mandatory in the form, however, we cannot deal with your enquiry, because we then have no way of answering you.
15. Changes to this notice
We adjust this notice as soon as the processing changes, for instance because a service is added or removed. The version available here applies. You will find the date at the top of this page.
