Optics as they really are

Field of view, resolution, focal length and the slant distance from camera to target are all in the calculation. We take the field of view as the manufacturer measures it.

18 sensor formats, 20 resolutions

From 1/3″ to full frame, from VGA to 8K. The panoramic formats are in there too — the ones that deliver more pixels across the width than 4K despite having fewer megapixels. That is exactly what counts.

New: the 3D view

Put the camera in a yard, a warehouse or in front of a shop entrance and look at what arrives from there. In exactly as many pixels as your camera delivers at that spot.

Every task has its number.

Do you only want to know that someone walked across the yard? Or do you want to be able to say afterwards who it was? Those are two different tasks, and they need different numbers of pixels. The standard names the number for each task; the cctvfinder finds you the camera to match.
